Working from the Outside, In...
These workshops will provide an opportunity to reflect on ourselves, our community,
our shared hxstory.
By walking through our Barrio community, studying murals, visiting Museo Urbano, our Mexica Sunstone, etc., we will write our own stories, perform our own teatro and tell our own hxstory.

This workshop will provide people with the opportunity to use the power of poetry to address the concerns and issues along the U.S./Mexico border and turn them into prayer beads. Artist and poet Tara Trudell will conduct the “Border Beads Project” workshop to teach people ways of turning their poetry into poetic action. The “Border Beads Project” will document these stories through film, photography, and the process of creation of bead necklaces to create a nationwide traveling installation exhibit to further the awareness of issues, experiences, and concerns along the U.S./Mexico border. “The more we cultivate our connection to the earth, the stronger we become.”
